Q: How do I get my iPhone to recognise this as a microphone and not headphones?

Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone then make sure the app you are using it with is switch on for access.

Q: Am I doing something wrong? It is making a clicking/crackling sound every time I use it.

I’m had this problem and it was to do with my iPad and then I tried it with my phone it worked could it be the fitting or device your using ?
