Always go for real brass fittings, the new type of aluminum painted to look like brass are terrible.
Always use brass fittings. Don't use those new aluminum ones with the thin fake brass coating. They will corrode stuck within one season. Use these real brass fittings that will never really corrode at all. I have these on my brass end connection of the hose and they come off and on easy. Works great and no hassle at all.
