No, it is not like a second skin. It is supposed to help heal and provide a cushion of protect in that process. I first come in contact with this type of product after my mother was treated at a wound care hospital facility where they used in on her. Now, when necessary, I use it for her. She is elderly and her skin is very fragile.

Q: So, are these adhesive? Or just foam squares meant to cushion the wound site?

They are meant to cover wounds that need moisture to heal, like burns. They are non-stick so that they don't damage the healing process. They are not just a cushion. Like other types of dressings, you will need some kind of gauze & tape, tubular bandage or just tape to secure it

Q: are they easy, pàinless to remove? wont stick to wound? how long can they stay?

It is as good a product that is used in hospital. If it’s over an open wound it’s going to be somewhat painful to remove. My husband used them a year ago I can’t remember how long they stayed on. Sorry

Q: What’s the best size to get for your butt? My doctor recommended these.

Money savings would be this size: the 4 X 4.25. You can cut it to an appropriate size to what one might need this for.
