it really works
I'm not one to write reviews, but this product deserves a review, it's never been so easy and hygienic to take my dog to do his business, I should have bought this years ago!

Should've Got This Years Ago!
The media could not be loaded. Just for a reference, we have a 13.5-year-old golden retriever. He has had a couple of bouts of diarrhea and it has been extremely difficult to keep not only him clean but also outside. I do not know why I never thought of it until recently but catching the poop has several pros! If you think about it, when you allow your dog to poop and you pick it up there is still some remnants left behind no matter what. Also, if your dog has slightly soft poop it'll really smear on the grass or on the ground. And when you have diarrhea, oh my goodness it is difficult and can be disastrous! A couple of months ago he had chronic diarrhea and it was so hard to clean up. I thought to myself if I could just catch it before it hits the floor it'll be better. I searched online and found this on Amazon and it is amazing! Since he has a fluffy behind I use hair clips to clip his hair out of the way when he does his business. And then it was easy to just catch it in here instead of letting all the running mess in the grass and all over the place. It would be helpful also for you if you had a little bit of kitty litter in the bag if your dog has the runs. Anyways, clean up was a lot easier. Even after his bout of the runs we have been using it. The company also makes LED flashlights that attaches to the stick which made it even better! Obviously, we highly recommend! The bags that came with it was not our favorite however we found some other bags online that were slightly wider and longer and those are perfect! Be sure to practice with your dog if they are not used to anything getting near their behind when they are doing their business. Our dog is used to us being around him so it wasn't an issue.

Good quality.
If you are like me you hate picking up dog poop with a plastic bag over your hand! This is perfect tool for you. I had some poop catchers before, this one is designed a lot better and it is better quality. The others I had did not have a good system to hold the bags, and the telescoping handle would frequently break. This one has a really good system to hold the bags however it does not work as well with bags other than the proprietary bags. The stick is well made with decent materials. The best thing about this product over other poop sticks is you can actually scoop with this one if you don't catch it all. The biggest con about this product is the hoop or catcher proportion of the stick could be a little larger. Over all this is a really decent product the handle is made of aluminum and composition materials. It seems like it will last a long time. I am very happy with my purchase!

Great product!
This product works great. I had difficulty bending all the way down to pick up poop. This product eliminates the need to bend down. Thank you!

Extension lock broke the 2nd day of use
It has a twist mechanism to lock it in place when it’s extended or retracted, but it stopped working tbe 2nd day of use. Otherwise it works as advertised for catch-&-go, but picking up poo from the ground is a challenge if the poo is anything but rock solid. Another improvement would be if they came in different sizes, such as for small, medium, large, & extra large dogs. The opening of the catch ring is a bit narrow for my Rottweiler who likes to walk as she poops. 😒 I used to stoop behind her & catch with a bag (always wearing gloves just in case), but this saves me from that awkward embarrassment. Sometimes her 💩 isn’t always solid, & those soft serve poos are VERY difficult to pick up once they hit the grass. This scooper can’t pick up the soft poo any better than I can manually.

didn't like it
not working for us :(( in reality not possible to hold near the dog while he is doing it...hard to scoop it from the ground, you still need another hard stick to push it in bag. No, not recommending

Easy Once You Learn to Use it
This is by far the best pooper scooper I’ve used. When my daughter was little I found one at a big box pet supply store. It was the same concept with the bag but it was shaped like an actual scoop. You had to bend down to scoop the poop. My daughter was young and it was easy for her to use so that’s what we had.I was so happy to find this one with the same concept except I don’t have to bend down. It took a few tries before I understood how to use it as it had slight differences to my original one. Theoretically you can hold it under your dog and catch the poop but our dog likes to poop privately so we never see him do it until we find it in the yard. Go figure.A couple of things I learned that helps immensely with the ease of using this tool. First, you can definitely use grocery store bags but you really need to secure them tightly. If you have a big dog the poop gets heavy in the bag and I got a little behind at picking up so I had some extra to do. If they aren’t secured tightly then they will come off of the part that does the scooping and you will have to remove the bag and start over.Second, on the scoop itself there are two blades. One side is for grass and the other side is for hard surfaces like concrete or road. I didn’t realize this at first and I was scooping with the wrong side. It got frustrating because it just didn’t work. Pay attention to the way you load your bag so that if you are scooping on grass, you have that side pointing up. It makes the tool work properly and it is so much easier. If you have a small dog with small poops, you will love this. It’s so easy to use for smaller piles. The hole is not super large so if have a bigger dog with bigger piles, it can be challenging if you manage to scoop the entire pile. You have to give it a good shake to get it to fall into the bag.The scoop is not completely free from getting dirty while in use. Unless you wrap the bag around the entire scoop area, the scoop is going to get dirty. It’s super easy to hose off though so it’s not a problem. All in all this is a great tool for a dirty job that no one wants to do. It’s well designed although I wonder about the long term sturdiness of it. I am hoping it will last for awhile. The plastic could be a bit stronger but it seems to hold up to heavy bags. The bags that it comes with are on the small side so I have found that I prefer a plastic shopping bag. If you have a dog or multiple dogs this is a great little pooper scooper. I recommend it.
