Q: Is there much of a difference between this and the moto g pure, which appears to be nearly identical as far as specs, etc? thanks!

I'd buy the Moto G Pure. At least it comes installed with Android 11 while the G Play comes with Android 10 with no promise of another OS update. The G Pure offers security updates until 9/23 while the G Play only until 6/23. If you need more battery time the G Play does offer up to 3 days vs the G pure with only 2 days. That may be the deal breaker for some users. Both screens are the same size and same resolution. Both are water repellant and offer facial recognition. The cameras seem almost identical. Both offer 32 GB of storage and 3 Gigs of RAM. The word Play in the devices name suggests it's somehow better for gamers but neither device excels in that area. The G Pure weighs less and even has a sleeker design. It may just come down to whichever is cheaper when you're ready to buy.

Q: Does this phone have a Replaceable battery?

NO. However, the battery life on most mobile devices is typically 4 to 6 years. High performance usage like gaming contributes to the reduction in the average battery life timespan.
