I have tried several devices to slice tomatoes. This has been far the best device I have used based on cost and efficiency. I would recommend this to anyone who wants easier way to slice tomatoes.

Works great, not sure how long it will hold together not sure worth the money because of the fact that I don’t think it will hold together long. If it lasts longer than a month, I will be surprised because already first time I used it seems like the spring is going to pop out. Needs to be improved for strength and holding together well, otherwise it’s wonderful because it does do the tomatoes in very nice neat slices. And easy to use.

It’s good in theory, however not a good choice for large tomatoes and be careful when slicing because you can accidentally cut slivers of plastic if you don’t get directly in the center of the guides.

This product is a good idea but poorly executed. You need a very sharp knife to make it work, and it's tricky to get the knife to align in the guides properly. Small or large tomatoes don't work well. When it works, you do get perfectly sliced tomatoes, just like at a sub shop. However, after using about five times, the plastic hinge at the bottom broke and the whole thing fell apart. Fortunately that didn't happen while I was cutting! I would definitely not recommend this product.

That you have a very sharp knife

I bought this tool a few months ago, and I've used and cleaned it about 50 times, and it's still almost like new. I have seen other reviews stating THEY THINK it's not going to last, but I'm reviewing stating I KNOW it will last, or at least long enough to justify its price-point. I'm starting to get some rough edges in the grooves from knicking it with the knife (which is why I use this, I can't hold a knife steady enough to slice tomatoes safely anymore without a guide like this). Keep in mind I've never put it through the dishwasher, I only handwash it, which is very easy to do. The spring has not started to rust yet either. Good product, I will re-buy it when it wears out.

I purchased this to cut slices evenly for my sandwiches. I buy large tomatoes so the slices cover the entire thing. When I tried this device with a large tomato, it will not work. The tines are too far apart to work correctly. Plus, one of the features is 'anti-skid'. Not happening on mine. The plastic is smooth and skates all over the place when holding it. I had great expectations about this device. I am very disappointed.
