Q: What am I doing wrong? I cleaned it with soap & water, even gave it a quick wipe with acetone & it still doesn't pick up the polish!!

Try (if this makes sense) rolling the stamper across the plate. Also try different polishes, some polishes work better than others. Usually the thicker the polish the better. Try to work quickly, sometimes my polish dries faster than I can stamp. Sometimes stamping is trail an error. Another tip I found on you tube is using a lent roller or tape to clean or pick up excess polish off the stamper. It works really well, better than the acetone when working. I hope this helps! 

Q: Do I have to prime this stamper or will that ruin it?

if you found the stamper can't pick up patterns well,you don't need to prime it,just wash the stamper head in running water,then dry it in air,then it will work well.

Q: why wont born pretty plates pick up

It might be technique. It might be polish. My plates are Bundle Monster, MoYou, & Uberchic so I don't have Born Prerry but I've noticed that it doesn't pick up anything with smaller images. My polishes are from MdU, MoYou, & Hit the Bottle

Q: I will only use for french manicure. can i use regular polish instead of stamping polish? do i clean the silicone after each nail b4 it dries?

I used Gel polish- Sally Hansen and didn’t need to clean it after each nail
