Perfect for my mandala projects

I've been painting on various bags of rocks just dealing with the imperfections. A friend asked me to paint 10 memorial rocks for her husband's funeral/memorial to give to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.I thought that was such a great idea for a way for the kids to remember their grandpa, but I didn't want to use "landscaping" rocks. I received these and they are exactly what I wanted for this project. Very few blemishes and so smooth and the exact size it said they would be. I can see that these would be good for engraving also. By the way, they were shipped in a padded bag. They really took extra care with these rocks.

I fell into a YouTube rabbit hole of watching people make Mandala Rocks for gardening and wanted to give it a try. These rocks were awesome! They are smooth to the touch and were decently semetrical. I included a photo with the 3 main shapes the rocks came in. Some are more oval than round which is totally fine. Will be ordering more because this is such a fun hobby to get into.

These rocks are perfect for painting on. All arrived undamaged. They were actually a little bigger than I thought which is fine for my work. Good smooth surface. I am new to rock painting and so glad I found these.

I have ordered these a total of EIGHT times, and it's been a few years since my last order. The difference between the stones of 2022 and 2025 is dramatic. These are now not all round and symmetrical as pictured, but they're shipping a lot of oval ones. I am now starting to teach dot mandala classes, and I expected this would be my go-to company for supplying nice round stones for the classes. Instead, there are so many oval ones now. They are also so much smaller--all around just 3 inches. They don't match the remaining stones that I have left from my order a few years ago, so my poor students are going to have to pick their stones on a first come, first served basis, with many getting an inferior rock. This is so disappointing. I guess I will have to try to find a new source because I don't want to reward this company for a decline in quality. They used to be so consistent and high-quality, all of similar size, and all carefully hand-picked. At the time of this order (April 2025), I am finding the supposedly larger stones by the same company are often measuring about the same and cost less per stone, so if you really feel like rewarding this company for a decline in quality, you might as well be careful size up since they cost less. Better yet, just find a company that has a commitment to shipping consistent size, shape, and quality of stones.

All of the stones were excellent size (2.5-3 inches) and condition with flat surfaces for painting or verse writing. They are perfect for my project. I’ve included a photo with a tape measure and a quarter for perspective. I will definitely purchase these again for future projects.

It's a minor miracle to actually get exactly what is advertised and described. I have bought rocks from various vendors, landscape places, but they always fall short. These are the right size, nice and round and flat. I am really happy with them and will definitely buy again.
