Just as advertised
The block arrived quickly. I had thought I was getting a polished surface block, but that's because I either didn't read the description thoroughly, or I got a couple products mixed up. My mistake. I'm sure this block will work just fine for checking color mixes with CA glue and for breaking materials into smaller pieces.

lots of scratches
so its definitely a steel block. feels pretty sturdy. but it looks used?? it came with lots of scratches on it

Rough, scratched, and pitted
Definitely heavy and solid.Came rough, scratched, and pitted. As an anvil for jewelry making it's not useful, any scratches will transfer to what I'm hitting.For the cost I wanted more than a square of scrap steel I could have found on the road.

Not Hardened Steel
The steel block is easily marred by a small hammer blow. The edges are not beveled or rounded. Makes a nice paper weight.
