Q: I just received the bongos yesterday. The smell is very bad and strong. What do you recommend to get rid of the smell?

Let them sit out in the air-- even on a covered porch for a couple of days. That should help diminish most of the smell. Good bongos- can't beat the quality & price

Q: Are these bongo drum heads water resistant as the other Eastar bongos?

Dear customer, the drum head of this product is made of animal skin, which will change its sound when exposed to water, so it is not waterproof.

Q: Why is larger drum a higher pitch than smaller - seems counter-intuitive?

they provide a wrench ..... tune them
