One of the best jarred sauces you can get
I typically make homemade sauce/gravy from either fresh tomatoes or canned, certified San Marzano tomatoes. A colleague (who is also a foodie and an excellent cook) recommended Michaels of Brooklyn so i gave it a try. Now I always keep a jar in my pantry for emergencies. This is seriously good stuff -- tastes like it was made with really good, fresh tomatoes and very little else and then simmered for a few hours. Not as good as homemade, but better than anything i have ever tried from a jar (including Rao's). I highly recommend!

This sauce is BOSS!
I visited with some friends in Florida who made a dish with this sauce and I loved it so much I ordered it from Amazon! This sauce is so flavorful and delicious! I made Chicken Parmesan and a meatloaf and this transformed it into something gourmet straight out of a restaurant. When I get to go to New York I definitely want to go visit the restaurant in person!

Marinara sauce
Very good sauce but a little too acidic.

Honestly the best sauce you can buy
I've been looking for a sauce like this for years. My grandma used to make a sauce very similar to this, though admittedly hers was far and away better (you know how it goes with Grandma's sauce). That said, this is the closest thing I can find to her sauce. It's smooth, no chunks of tomato, no over powering basil or garlic, just full of tomatoes. The carrots are like the secret in it I think. There's Definitely an ingredient that sets it apart from others. All said, I'm glad there's a sauce out there that's readily available to buy. I first found it at Safeway, and since the closest Safeway happens to be pretty far away I order it here on Amazon. Don't let the price scare you away. It's totally worth it. It's not that sugar filled Prego GARBAGE. If you're on the fence just buy it. Won't regret it.

I like this better than Rao's
Rao's has been my default spaghetti sauce. It's a great sauce but Michael's of Brooklyn Homestyle Gravy is better. It's just pleasant and good tasting. Luckily it was a clearance item at a store for a dollar so we bought it to try. Because of that chance discount, we discovered this great sauce.

Very bland taste.
Had to add a lot of spice & season to make this bland sauce have some flavor. Will stick to my home made from now on. Only tried it because a friend to me he like it. But he does very little cooking. Will not purchase again.

I got a jar that the lid was dented, not a good sign for me
I am not sure why this happened, but I took a itsy, bitsy, tiny, cautious taste with the tip of my pinky from the jar uncooked. The seal was not quite right visually. The primary reason I purchased it was based on the texture. Two days later I started getting sick. Ten days after the start of getting sick I still feel badly. Maybe it has nothing to do with the sauce and my perception of its seal, I simply know that after this I have zero desire to taste this again. I gave this a neutral rating because I might not be the best person to rate this product. I baked this at 190 degrees F for 30 minutes. I then cooked the dish that I made an additional 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. My husband had no problems after the sauce was extensively cooked, but cooking at certain temperatures for determined times denatures proteins.
