Q: Why don't they care you you only get a quarter of an inch in a tube

The product is compact with metals and flux. A smaller dispensing syringe would appear as there's more material in the tube, but it would be more challenging to dispense.

Q: What is the shelf life of a well-sealed syringe? I’m hoping years

9 months is the high end. The paste hardens and is unusable after 9 months.

Q: If you assume a normal amount used at a joint how much will this tube provide. Let’s say length of one long joint (hypothetically).

In the tube what you see is what you get. The tube is filled 1/4 of the way. Disappointing for the amount of money it cost. You also need a higher heat to melt it with. It is very strong and does go a long way. That tube would probably do a 3/8” an overlap joint 6’ long I’m guessing.

Q: Will this work well for installing flat seated front sight on rifle barrel? Barrel and flat bar sight are not stainless steel or nickle plated

It will work. It is a brazing flux so you will need to get to the working temperature quickly. An oxyacetylene torch or a push-button Mapp gas torch tip will work.
