CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with Pump 16 oz Daily Face and Body Moisturizer for Dry Skin

A full review of the product follows.As for the usefulness of the pump - it works perfectly. Delivers a measured amount of cream. Great for small areas. However the pump ceases to be useful after 3/4 of the volume is gone. Leaving me to open and close the top to get to the remaining amount. If you only use it for small areas you can always replace the 16 oz container. However the pump does not fit the larger or smaller size.I have had issues with my skin as long as I can remember. Being allergic to almost everything. Highly allergic, I would develop eczemaat the drop of a hat. Dry, red, itchy, irritated skin which became damaged, slow to heal. With thosevesicles that would break. I also haddermatographic skin that gets red raised, swollen with mild pressure. Too many auto-immune issues.I learned about the role of hydration. Increasing fluids. Increasing beneficial fats like avocados. Fatty fish. Broccoli. Adequate Vitamin C and E. Calcium.Like everything else, diet, vitamins, supplements are necessary but not sufficient. Environmental factors, heat, prolonged sunlight, pollution - even animal dander, harsh soaps, - all encountered in everyday normal life still compromised my skin integrity. Even my own stress contributed.Made my skin lose their natural oils.I have tried skin oils, lotions. Some I still use - and love.But. They do not have the same restorative qualities. Nor the same action. As CeraVe.Our skin epidermis - the outer layer - is made up of phospholipids. The ceramides in CeraVe restore those lipids. Restore our skins integrity as a natural barrier.But that is not why I love CeraVe. It lives up to all its claims - and more. Non-allergenic. Soothing. No fragrance to annoy me or others. It never feels greasy. It is as if I can feel that moisture - that healing - the minute I put some on my skin. The hyaluronic acid helps retain that moisture - helps the skin regain that full fresh glow & appearance of health.With repeated application, over days, it helps my skin heal. Whatever condition I have never leaves. This is not a cure per se. A treatment. Ongoing. That restores. That is why my eczema seemed to disappear.It dries quickly. Never feels like there is something pulling or shrinking on top of my skin. It goes into the skin. Does not sit on top.My friend who also has issues with her dry skin recommended this. It is the single best over the counter skin moisturizing and restorative product I have ever used. I cannot say enough good things about this. Now I just slather it on. Does me a world of good.

I have SUPER dry, sensitive skin. I have been using night creams night and day but still had problems with flaking and dryness and even those made for sensitive skin could leave me itching and burning. This stuff is amazing! I use it on my face at night, it soaks in after about a minute and feels non-greasy. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and even after washing in the morning, my skin still doesn't feel dry or tight. I was concerned that the thick formula (and this one is for body) would make my face break out, but I've been using it for about a month and have had no issues. I've even had co-workers say how great my skin is looking!I've started using it everywhere. I've had a problem with cracked heels for years and my Dermatologist had me using Amlactin and a prescription urea ointment. Both helped but were greasy and could only be used at night with socks because of that. This stuff fixed my dry heels within a week. I no longer have to wear socks to bed and only have to put this on my feet every few nights vs. every night.Also, I've lived with keratosis pilaris (aka follicular keratosis) - red, patchy bumpy skin - on my upper arms for most of my life. My Dermatologist said to use the Amlactin or Urea on my arms, too -- which worked, but I couldn't stand the smell. So once I saw how great CeraVe was on my face and feet, I tried it on my arms, too. KP all gone!I know I sound like I'm an advertiser for the company or own A LOT of stock, but I'm not and I don't. I'm just stunned that I've found this product and that it is so affordable. I've turned my friends and family on to it, too. I know how much super dry, sensitive skin can hurt so hope this review can help others with some of the same problems.Next, I'm going to get the CeraVe face cream to use for day time. Oh, I should have noted, I found this cream is too heavy for the face for day time if I was going to be active at all or wear make-up. Even just a light persperation made it feel oily on my face and it made my make-up slip if applied immediately after the Cerave.

I've used Cerave for a long time for both face and body and I'll always recommend this as a basic moisturizer. I've been wanting a pump on the tubs for a while, because I don't like the idea of 'contaminating' the cream after lots of use (although my fears are probably mostly unfounded especially if your hands are fairly clean during the uses).Still, the pump IS great... until you get to the bottom 1/4 of product. I loved this with the pump for most of the cream use, but once you get to around 1/4 of the product left, it gets harder to pump the product out. You can open the jar and "readjust" your cream so that you can get better pump action, but once you get to a little left, it's better to use just your hands to scoop it out. I'm still giving it 5 stars, because first of all, this jar isn't initially designed to have a pump, so the convenience still warrants a high review. And also, the product is clearly still the same, so I don't feel it is fair to give it a low review.Just be mindful that when you purchase this product, it won't meet all your pump needs/wants from a "cerave tub with a pump". Although again, it's GREAT for the first 3/4 of the tub. When you get to the bottom of the product, you will need to use your dirty contaminated fingers to smear this on your face ;)
