Bought these for my four year old granddaughter who loves to make stuff they are the perfect size for Little hands

The cords are thick and sturdy and allow for easy on and off. Beads are larger so they are great if you have littler kids around.

Got these for my daughter’s valentines and she loved it! A good dexterity building activity. She made necklaces for everyone over and over again. Pattern learning, threading, knot tying! The string. Comes with an aglet end so very easy to thread. Thread does catch the inside of the wooden bead so it needed to be pulled a few times. Very cute! Came with everything needed. Will last a long time.

My daughter got these as a birthday gift last year, but she was only 3 and I thought not ready yet for the activity. I just had a baby and needed something to entertain my older daughter for an afternoon, and this was just the ticket. She and my mom sat down for an hour or so and made several necklaces. My mom even figured out a way to twist the string in order to shorten it and turn it into a bracelet. My daughter enjoyed herself so much, we decided to purchase these to gift to a friend who was having a 4th birthday party. I like that the pieces are large enough to put through the string and it really encourages creativity. The only downside is that once the necklaces are made, there's not much else you can do unless you undo them and redo them. It'd also be nice if it came with different size strings to make matching bracelets to go with the necklaces more easily. Still, it's a good activity and the price is reasonable.

I was surprised by how much my almost 3 year old loves this toy! She is at the age where nothing holdings her attention for too long but she has played with this bead set for very long stretches of time almost every day. She doesn't put toys in her mouth so that wasn't an issue for us. This toy is colorful, well thought out and great for fine motor skill development. As for storing, when done playing we put it back in the wooden tray it comes in and put it on our playroom shelf. We got the Sweet Hearts & Butterfly set for $17.86 which is a good deal for a Melissa & Doug toy.
