Q: Does this have to be touching the glass or can I hover so that I can follow fish around the tank without dragging against glass?

It actually hovers slightly above the glass when attached. Only the soft felt touches the glass. If you want to hold it by hand over the glass to follow fish, that will also work

Q: Will it stick to a 1” acrylic tank?

No,the magnets are not strong enough for 1". This is rated for 5/8", but may work up to 3/4" in some cases. We should have a Max version for larger tanks available shortly.

Q: Does the magnifying lens go inside the tank or on the outside?

The lens goes on the outside of the tank. Magnetic coupler goes on the inside. It moves easily without putting your hands in the tank.

Q: What Size do I need for 150 gallon tank

A tank that size would likely require the 5" viewer which has optimal focal range around 6-10" deep into the tank
