Q: Is this battery operated, solar or does it have a power cord?

Battery and power chord. It is not solar powered.

Q: Seems adequate, replacing a workhorse that i had for at least 30 years, we'll see how this does. i just can't figure out what to do with 1 aaa battery

mine uses 4 aa batteries and no aaa battery not sure where this aaa battery is coming from

Q: Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for the tape holder wire thing? Either it wasn't in the package, or it slipped out somewhere....

Dont know if this is true of this calculator but on the calculator I own, if you lift up the plastic piece where the paper roll slides through, the wire tape holder thing is folded inside.
