Q: Not blue color but it does taste like dried split peas. More of a dark gray color. Is the product photo altered to look bright blue?

What are you talking about? It doesn’t taste like split pea soup... and it IS blue. The more you add, the deeper the blue. If your base liquid is colored, it will alter the color. I have been adding this to tea and then adding milk and it’s gorgeous.

Q: Can i use this to make tea?

I mix it with tea to make Blue Moon Milk/ Tea

Q: Does butterfly pea powder stain things like coffee mugs and porcelain?

I used butterfly pea powder to color homemade ice cream. It did not stain the waxed cardboard containers I used to store the ice cream and it did not stain the mug that I used to serve it. I also spilled some of the powder on the counter and wiped it up easily with a wet cloth and it left no stain. I don't know how it behaves when it is hot.
