the ground wire was shorter than I expected, approximately 20 inches as I recall

Q: Can i hook a switch up to this isolator the change wich battery i want to use?

As long as both batteries are in good shape it keeps both charged so you shouldn't need to do that

Q: will this isolator cut off when house battery is fully charged ?

This isolatordesigned to only charge house battery from altnator after start battery reaches a certain voltage and to stop draw on start battery below a specified voltage

Q: My second battery (trolling motor battery) does not ground to anything. Should I ground that to the primary battery or the engine block?

You will need to tie the secondary (trolling) battery to the primary in order to charge. Just follow enclosed directions, applies to any 12V system.
