Rubbish - failed after just one day
This is very difficult to wire as others have reported. You have to cut the wires very short - about 6mm This has no proper cable clamp, just the top and bottom of the case and the slot was too narrow for even a 2-core cable. Had to cut away part of the case. One assembled it worked well, but then overnight it failed to switch on. I discovered if you switch off the mains supply at the wall plug and left it a few seconds it started working again, only to fail the same way a few hours later. Not much use for a bedside light in the dark! Don't waste your money!

Contemporary function
Works well, very modern function. The one I received was different to some of the photos in the reviews in that it didn't have an earth connection, just two wires in and out. It's not that difficult to wire up, just trim about 10mm off the outer insulation and 5mm off the individual wires using wire strippers. Automatic wire strippers don't work in this situation as there's not enough cable.

Not suitable for metal light units (no earth)
Nice product, but the pictures showed it could include an earth wire. It doesn’t so of no use when connecting to metal lamps. I returned my unit (quick refund) and bought one with an earth connection (but much more expensive).

Inline LED Dmmer
This unit is a neat, slender package though, frankly, in my opinion, expensive for what it is. I purchased because Kinghtsbridge is a trusted brand. The unit is designed to accommodate twin core, flat-sided oval section wiring and generally I would suggest adherence to this is a must. In my case I introduced into a three core 0.5mm CSA round section flex and it took some work to accomplish this. There is sufficient room in the case for the protective conductor, but overall termination and assembly is fiddley and to some extent I would anticipate, even where using two core cable, for this to be so. In use, the unit operates very well as an on-off switch, but the dimming function is, in my opinion, coarse in operation and adjusting the lighting level often requires more than one attempt to achieve the desired level. This will probably be easier when I've set the minimum level. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and very much so with respect to its appearance in the supply cable to the lighting unit. Should I need further units like this in the future, I would probably spend more time making comparisons before opting for this particular component again.

Failed after 4 months
The dimmer worked perfectly for 4 months, then, two days ago, found fully on when returned home in the evening. It will no longer switch off.Not many reviews for the dimmer switch, the large number of good reviews are mostly for the simple on/off switch.Cannot recommend this dimmer switch. Avoid.

Works really well
The dimmer switch seems well built and was easy to install. Really heavy gauge wires will struggle to fit but standard lamp wires were fine. Took very little time to install and worked perfectly from the first install. No provision for earth cable but then the lamp I had didn’t have one.

Not worth it
It is incredibly difficult to set the correct dim level required. The dimmer runs through the different increments at such speed that one either find it turning the light off or at a too bright setting. Waste of money!

Look for something else
Cable entries too small for cables likely to be encountered with a light fitting.Plastic switch cover doesn't make contact with switch with cables fitted meaning the product doesn't actually work...Had to re engineer the enclosure to support the back of the circuit board to get it to work....at all....Once physically working the dimming sequence is so fast you have to have a reactions like a jedi warrior to get the timing right to get the dimming level you want ..If it had been £2 from China the above would have been disappointing, at the price charged it's not fit for purpose..
