Pretty good but I have complaints
The heck1 is OK and I think I will keep it, but I am not entirely satisfied with it.The construction seems good and the sound is ok but my two complaints are:1. The tambourine cymbals produce a jingle that is too quiet to compete with the sound of the cajon. I had to Velcro my little foot-tambourine to the back of the heck1 to make it loud enough to use.2. The price. $99 is too much for what this thing is. I would give it a higher rating if it were less expensive but, as it is, it is not a good value for the price you pay. For $99, I would expect it to be better.

Sounds good with cajon, frame drum and guitar
I got the Schlagwerk Side Kick along with a cajon, but had to return the cajon to Amazon due to some defects. But I kept the Side Kick because it sounds pretty good with the Tar (frame drum) and also with my Guitar. It's a fairly simple instrument, that provides a metronomic beat kind of sound in the background. It can be attached to the side of a cajon with velcro tape stripes, or it can be placed on the floor for you to play. It's made of wood, unlike the metallic impression it gives in the photos and videos. I can't vouch for its durability yet, as I've just used it for a few days, but I strongly recommend this for Cajon players and frame drum players. If you happen to have the habit of tapping your foot while playing music, placing a sidekick underneath your toes will add an extra dimension to the sound. I give it four stars, deduct one for I think it's 10 dollars too expensive.

Not that great!
This is just OK as a Cajón add-on. You can achieve a similar slap effect by loosening the top corner screws on your Cajón's face plate. You can barely hear the jingle even when amplified. It also causes me to adjust to a less comfortable sitting position. For $100+ I expected more.

Heck stick and sidekick- nice addition to your cajon sounds
This is a great add-on for your cajon. Since I have a Meinl cajon with pedal, it is great it can be mounted on either side. Adds the sounds of hi-hat/tambourine and also a rim shot effect. Still getting used to the side kick and hitting it with the inside of my foot. But the other great thing is it can be detached and played with a foot like a bass drum. Adds some width to the overall cajon so if you have a cajon bag, make sure it is large enough. Took about 5 minutes to install and mounting template was perfect. Tried another Internet supplier but they did not have the item in stock and weren't sure when they would receive. Good product and would recommend it and the merchant.

Adds a new dimension
This instrument add on adds so much in the way of voicing to my cajon playing. This turned my cajon into a small trap kit like instrument that I can play more complicated polyrhythms and accents just like I would do on my kit.

Sounds really good!
I really love this addition to my Schlagwerk cajon, having seen/heard it played on youtube etc. the Side Kick is nicely 'touch sensitive' as is the Heck Stick. The build quality is really good. the Velcro bond is very strong when new so I used just a partial overlap on the back velcro strip section which works really well. If you fully overlap the Velcro you may find that the 'cajon strips' could pull off but I think the adhesion will mellow with use. Given the quality of the sound, how well made it is, the potential enjoyment as an addition to a cajon I would say it's good VFM. A well deserved 5 stars. My much loved Heck Stick & Side Kick were despatched in both good order and on time from Jb Music however the courier delivered the order very late, not the sellers fault! As an Amazon customer I would like to think that an appropriate ticking off might be in order.

Very good quality
My son plays the cahon a lot and this looked like a useful addition. The quality is excellent and fitting is very easy. We have a larger than usual cajon but this caused no issues due to the height adjustability of the heck stick. It really adds a new dimension to the sounds you can make. The ability to have the side kick either on the side or on the floor is very useful as it depends on what you are playing or trying to achieve. Do remember that you have to adjust to position quite a bit as otherwise your leg will obscure or touch the heck stick.

Excellent piece of kit, exactly what I wanted.
This is great for someone who is using a Cajon for more of a kit sound, you can use it as hi hats with a closed sound or open as the tambourines are adjustable. The side kick is great for things like 3/2 clave etc. You can double up as a rim click as well.Overall great piece of equipment for the price and it gives you lots of ideas to play with. Here is an example of me using this . . .[...]
