Q: Is that a lye or no lye relaxer?

The sensitive scalp is the no lye product. Since this is no-lye, there will be a calcium build-up on the hair from the relaxer. You will need a CHELATING shampoo of your choice in addition to the neutralizing shampoo to remove the calcium and relaxer. Mizani Phormula 7 is a good one. Plus, a protein and an hydrating masks would be applied to the relaxed hair to minimize the shedding and breakage.

In addition to this kit, you will need Avlon Affirm Fiberguard Sensitive Scalp System II. Plus Affirm Gentle Assurance to base the surrounding skin and scalp. System II has the Fiberguard Sustenance Fortifying Treatment, a Fiberguard Normalizing Shampoo, and the Fiberguard Preservo Strengthening Serum. Your 3rd normalizing hair washing should remove the calcium deposit left from the no-lye relaxer. I use Mizani Phormula 7 which is a normalizing and CHELATING shampoo. At this point, the hair has received a lot of protein which can lead to hair dryness. I use MorroccanOil Hydrating Mask to balance the protein/hydration in the hair. I let it sit for 20 min. with a heating cap, then rinse. Style the relaxed hair to your preference. Hope this helps.
