Sunchang Gochujang 500g

I made a chicken thigh stir fry using Gochujang Medium Hot Korean chili paste… all I used was just 2 heaping tablespoons with 4 boneless chicken thighs… and it was pleasantly SPICEY … I also added some honey which made my chicken stir fry Hot and Sweet … I would certainly buy Gochujang Medium Hot AGAIN!

Excellent flavor, good and fresh, in a sturdy container. Have used in multiple dishes, wonderful every time. Would buy again

I have looked in all my local grocery stores for this seasoning to no avail and was ecstatic to find it on here! (I shouldn't be surprised because Amazin is my go-to place for anything I want to purchase).This seasoning will last a long time as a little bit goes a long way. You have to be able to handle "spicy hot" as this definitely has a kick to it along with the fabulous flavor.I'm not sure what the traditional uses are for this but I brown chicken in sesame oil, garlic, salt & pepper, when it's almost finished I throw in sliced onions, bell pepper and lots of sliced cabbage. When it's almost finished cooking I add about a tbsp of this seasoning and mix well then serve the dish over Jasmine rice.Oh my gosh, it is so darned good!I would love if anyone could post their favorite recipes using this because I have no idea what to use it for except for the one meal I mentioned that a friend had cooked for me many years ago).This is much pricier than what I've paid for in the past but I think it's worth every dime. I bought this one ingredient that I didn’t already have to make a recipe from NYT Cooking app. The cookies were phenomenal and everyone loved them. I am now searching for more recipes to use this magic ingredient.

First ... I have traveled all over Asia including a lot of time in Korea over the past 30 years and I love this pepper paste for really authentic flavor. Comes in a tub about the size of one of those margarine tubs.But the tub is the reason I reduced the rating from 5 down to 4. The reason is that the top is a nice design with the lid hinged and has a good latch to keep it sealed. BUT ... the whole top has to be removed when you first get it to remove the plastic film that is keeping the product safe. And then, the top never really stays on anymore when you try to open and close the lid.Still small inconvenience for a great product!

I had tried various gochujang from the grocery store and never found one with the right balance of flavors. Most were too sweet and did not have enough spiciness. This brand finally gave me what I was looking for. Great flavors with a good balance of sweet/spicy. Now I just have to find some more recipes to use it in!

Bought this on the recommendation of my halmoni (Korean grandmother), who insisted that this brand was the only acceptable gochujang. I have to agree! I like the sweet undertone the spiciness brings--it's a surprisingly round flavor. As other reviews mention, it is quite spicy--I put one heaping tablespoon in a big pot of chicken stew and it was plenty spicy, so I recommend adding a little at a time to whatever you're making.Also, for those concerned about the high fructose corn syrup mentioned in other reviews, my packaging lists tapioca syrup as the sweetener.
