Q: Arrived missing patch kit and Polly bag... how can I get these?

I would return it for a new one. Amazon is very good about returns. That being said you can get a patch kit at any hardware store just ask them

Q: Does the side drain work really well? As in, does it easily drain? I plan on using it every night with my two toddlers.

No! It works terribly. I battled with this two different times and then gave up and bought a different tub with a drain on the bottom because it was so so so difficult to try to manhandle this one. Best to you with your search!

Q: do the layers of the tub inflate independently? This would fit in my tub as long as I do not inflate the bottom two layers

Yes they inflate independently. This tub is rather large. Not sure it would fit inside a standard bathtub.
