Q: Is this hose to fit an outside diameter of 2" ? That is the od of 11/2" pvc pipe.

I used the 2" Dia. x 50 ft HydroMaxx hose to backwash my pool, it worked perfectly as long as you use an O clamp. My pvc pipe was also 11/2".

Q: What type of clamp works best with this hose? I'll be connecting to a PVC pool drain (used for backwashing the pool). Thx!

I used 2 metal radiator type hose clamps over the hose/pvc pipe. Probably overlapped the hose 8-10" over the pvc. Make sure clamps seat evenly so they don't twist and cut into hose (hope that makes sense). The clamps didn't require a lot of tension, just enough so I couldn't pull the hose off by hand. Also made sure hose had no kinks or was twisted before starting backwash.

Q: Which reel specifically works with this hose?

I used a garden reel cart similar to the one Northern Tools sells (Item # 41726 - $99.00 for non members). I have wrapped 5 - 50" 3" diameter hoses complete with couplings (appx. 250') but it would probably hold more if their are no couplings between the hoses. I went a step further by cutting off and re-welding the wheels so they go in the same direction as the reel which allows for quick deployment of the heavy hose. I hook one end of the connector to the pump and just rolling out 200' in less then 30 seconds which you may need to do in a heavy down poor especially with the weight of the hoses and connectors. When I re-wrap the hose I hook one end of the coupler through the middle reel section to the fitting just outside the reel where the normal garden hose would connect so it initially stays in position and then begin wrapping it on the reel using the crank. It works perfectly.
