I have waist length hair and have no problems with hair getting stuck on the mat

Maybe it is just that seller, search for another one.

Q: Does this work on a textured shower floor?

It does not suction to textured shower floors but it also does not slip if you step on it carefully while getting into the shower. I have never had it move underneath me while showering either.
