Q: can I drill one post in concrete and install the other in grass?

i think so. i installed this a few months ago, and i think the posts are long enough to put one down into the ground. i would suggest a concrete footing for sure

Q: What is the measurement between pickets or vertical posts?

Each post is 2" wide, there are sixteen pickets per panel, the first picket is approximately 3 1/2" from the post and every picket is approximately 4" to the next picket till you get to the last picket which is once again approximately 3 1/2" from the last post. If you decide to cut any panels and shorten the lengths then there will be less pickets used but the space between will still be the same between pickets and/or posts.

The gate kit includes two fence posts and the components for ONE gate.

Q: how wide is the actual distance for the opening of the gate?

Sorry, I didn't use the gate in it's original width. I cut the 3 cross rails down to the width I needed.
