Q: Would this be suitable for plugging an Xbox one and PS4 in at same time?

I have a PC, PS4, my TV, my sound system for my PC & some other bits. Been using it for nearly a year now & I've had no problems.

Q: We had the kettle on and then put the toaster on and it cut out. Why?

I can only guess it's cut out or blown a fuse due to overload. Two appliances such as a kettle and toaster have too much power for this tower. Max wattage for this tower is 2500W, just the kettle is about 3000W and a toaster about 1500W. Also, Max Current is 10A for this tower. A kettle usually uses a 13amp fuse and a toaster 5amp. Hope this helps.

Q: What speed usb? usb 2 or 3 ?

The speed is only relevant for data transfer. These are charging ports. If you need faster charging than the built in usb ports you always can plug a fast charger into one of the normal sockets.

Q: Does this tower extension make any noises when in use? Some models tend to be noisy and not suitable for bedrooms

I have 2 of these in different rooms and have not noticed any noise from them
