Everything I Wanted
January 2014I have had this projector for one and a half years now. I still use it regularly for movie nights with my DVD player or my KindleHD (and streaming with Prime). I moved, took it with me, and now project on a wall instead of a cathedral ceiling - not as fun since I can't lay on my back looking up anymore, but it still looks great on the white walls. It is so lightweight that I can bring it anywhere. I also have a cord to hook it to my iPad, but you need "AppleTV" or something, so it won't play video. It will only show the home screen and some of the apps (this is Apple, not the projector). The bulb still works, the unit is great, everything is easily adjustable (screen lighting and angles and tilts and contrast), and my separate speakers have been just fine, way better than anything that could have been built in for that price. Anyone serious about a theater would buy separate speakers anyway. I would buy it all again in a heartbeat. It really is fine for daytime use.--Summer 2012 - my graduation gift to myselfI hooked up the projector last night when it arrived, and it instantly connected to my laptop. One of my concerns was that I would have trouble, but there was nothing to it! The computer cable was included. It was so easy to set everything up. I had my laptop resolution set to 1680x1050, and it projected my computer screen perfectly. I streamed live television through the internet on my laptop, and it looked great as I projected it on my ceiling. It was about four times bigger than my tv, and it was just as good a picture. The image is very sharp, and the projector is easily adjustable to figure out the focus. The colors are amazing. It felt like a movie theater. The entire room was actually lit up because the bulb was so bright. This morning, I adjusted the settings on my laptop to use the projector like a second screen. I have a movie going on it, and am using my laptop screen to type out this review right now. The image is almost as good as a tv right now, and this is in my sunlit room (two giant east-facing windows during the morning - the only way to make it a tiny bit sunnier would be to take the projector outside!). When the image is dark, it is a bit harder to see the boundaries and dark shapes. However, I've seen projectors where you just can't see anything even if it is just the room light on. It beats all the projectors I have ever seen before in daylight. There aren't any speakers on the projector. However, I would rather have a great image from the projector and just buy separate speakers. Not including speakers also allows the projector to be really small and really light-weight. It's so easy to carry. It will be really easy to transport and set up somewhere else. For now, I'm just using the speakers on my laptop since it is hooked up anyway. I plan to buy speakers later when I want to set up my DVD player with it, but spending a couple extra bucks for computer speakers would also do the trick. It doesn't come with a case or a lens cap, but I would imagine they are easy to buy separately. I don't see this as an issue.

Good entry level projector
I needed a basic, high-quality projector right away, but didn't want to spend too much. I was thinking mostly about the quality of the image and didn't care as much about any extra features. I've used InFocus projectors in the past and found them to be of high quality, so that lead me to this purchase.Cons:I had to spend nearly 20 minutes adjusting the color, brightness, and contrast settings to get to the point where it matched the standard I required for displaying medical images. However, I'm happy with the final result and the color appearance of images is quite good and the image is sharp across the entire display with no evidence of optical distortion. The default color settings of the projector seem way off from where I would expect them to be. In particular, pastel colors are weak and poorly reproduced until you tweak the system and then they look fine. The picture in the ad showed a carrying case, but there was none in the box. It would not keep me from ordering the projector, but the picture is deceiving. It would be nice to get a lens cap if there is no case to store the projector, but there was also no cap. Again, I would still buy the projector. The fan does not continue running after the lamp is turned off. This is probably because this is a low end projector. There is no handle for carrying it.Pros:Inexpensive.Has an excellent image after some color contrast adjustments.Lots of lumens... images look very good even in large, bright rooms.Projector does not weigh you down when carrying it.Fans are acceptably quiet.Summary: I was at first thinking of returning it because of the funky colors, but I'm now totally happy with it after the adjustments. You have to tweak everything it seems to get it to look right, but it is worth the effort. I would purchase this again, but maybe also look at the next step up in the InFocus line to compare the options and price to this model.

great deal!
I think this was a great buy you cant buy a tv of the same size and quality for the money of this even accounting for bulb replacement, ive had it for a few months now and have no complaints at all i may be a little biased because ive never owned an hd tv but in my opinion its closest your gonna get to hd for the money if you think your getting an hd tv your not but it is verry close in my opinion also its verry bright and can still b easily watched with the lights one with some loss of quality but not near as much as you would think

Broke after 4 hours of use
I'm quite disappointed. The product arrives as a gift and worked properly for about 4 hours and then stopped working. It simply wouldn't turn on.We were lucky that we has an authorized distributor close by (we took the product out of the country as a gift) and it turns out it needs to be replaced. We're quite unhappy with the quality of the product as we were expecting it to work at least more than 4 hours! Now we need to wait several weeks for the product to be mailed back from the manufacturer.

Nice product, good price
Got this product while looking for a high output, low cost product. There are a few other products out there that fit this bill, but selected InFocus for the name recognition and have not yet been disappointed. Good quality picture and colors appear bright. Only items that I would like to see improved is an easier way to focus the projector, right now to adjust the focus, you must turn the large focus ring, but not that easy to do. The second issue is that I also wish that it came with a carry bag, as illustrated in the advertisement. Overall a good product with a great warranty.
