Works for late model GM tow vehicle.
Filters the GM modulated power going to the trailer so an aftermarket trailer backup camera will work. Cheap and easy to wire in between my marker lights and the camera. Couple of gripes. Housing needs mounting holes so it can be screwed onto a flat surface. Housing needs a way to seal out the elements. The halves of the plastic housing have 6 little bitty plastic studs that press into holes in the other half. I’m suspecting the shock and vibration in a vehicle application. Will simply rattle the two halves apart, exposing the little PCB to the elements if it’s mounted on the back of the trailer close to the marker light and the camera. I used outdoor caulking to seal up the enclosure and double sided sticky to mount the housing to my trailer. I would have preferred a couple of mounting holes for screws and an o ring sealed enclosure also secured together with machine screws.

SCAM JUNK: First one lost, reordered and 2nd one only gives 3v output.
My first order was lost so had to wait until Amazon said I could cancel and get a refund.Reordered and got it today. This thing only puts out around 3 volts on the out side when connected. With engine off I register 11.5v from the reverse light I'm connecting to. With engine off my backup camera will work directly wired to reverse light, with this installed it will not.The definition of madness is to keep doing the same thing over and over so I'll figure out another solution.UNFORTUNATELY to return this thing would cost $7.99 when the purchase price was under $6.This is a scam and makes me want to not order from Amazon anymore. It's not worth returning which I'm sure the seller is well aware of so I guess I'll crack it open myself and see if I can somehow salvage it.

Works and solved my problem
Was pulling my hair out for 2 weeks trying to solve the reverse camera issue on a Mercedes. Camera would work great with the car off, but once started it would send a weaker/pulse signal to the camera and then wouldn’t work. This item actually solved the problem and provides constant power to the camera when it’s needed, (when the car is running and in reverse). Great price!

It works, but doesn’t do much
I installed a universal backup camera on my truck a few days ago and have had intermittent flickering when the engine is on. Sometimes the picture would just flicker bright and dim and other times the feed would cutout to a black screen for a second or two. After researching I landed here and decided for $6 I’d try the rectifier.First, it does install and works, but did nothing to help the flickering screen. It MIGHT give the feed just slightly more clarity, but not much else. The fix for my issue was disconnecting the negative/black wire from my reverse light (which I learned from YouTube as apparently the negative wire connection creates engine interference)Another thing about this rectifier, the installation is a bit confusing. The box has an “in” and an “out” maybe I overlooked the instructions somewhere here on the page (none came with the unit) but I assumed the “in” would connect to the camera side and the “out” would run to the reverse light, but hooked up that way I had absolutely no power triggering the camera. I honestly didn’t even think the direction would matter but it does, at least in my setup. So, please be warned on install you may have to ensure the “out” wires run towards your camera and the “in” wires towards your reverse light.Overall, it’s a $6 part and I’m going to leave it installed for now unless it fails completely because while it doesn’t seem to be doing much it isn’t hurting anything and it’s really not worth undoing all the wiring at this point.

Fixed the backup camera issue on C300
After installing a backup camera on my C300, I learned the signal sent to the backup light was not a pure 12V DC. That caused the new camera to no operate correctly and either had horizontal lines at the screen or simply a black screen. After installing this voltage stabilizer device, issue is fixed. Very satisfied with the performance of the item.

Didn’t really help with my reverse camera
Didn’t really help to stop the screen flickering between the camera and Home Screen on my aftermarket tablet on my Mini. Reduced the flickering slightly but not enough to make the camera usable when car is in reverse. Maybe the cambus is still interfering with the signal?

Perfect Solution!
I recently installed a backup camera on my 2008 VW GTI. I wired the camera into the reverse light so that it would automatically turn on when backing up. The camera worked perfectly when the engine was off, but when the engine was running I’d just get a blue screen. Apparently this is a common issue with many cars. I installed this little adapter in the power line and it immediately fixed the issue! Great solution for not much money. I highly recommend it!
