Good Value
I recently purchased the UST Watertight Survival Kit for just $5, and it has surpassed my expectations. Truth be told, I was primarily looking for a lightweight, water-resistant, and durable case, and this kit fit the bill perfectly. The contents of the kit were simply a pleasant bonus. The quality of the case has impressed me significantly. It’s robust and, most importantly, watertight, ensuring that all my essentials remain dry and protected. The latch feels secure and reliable, and so far, it has shown no signs of breaking – a promising sign of durability. For just $5, the value is simply remarkable. I now have a great waterproof case for my supplies, and the included survival tools make it an even better deal. I am thoroughly satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cost-effective solution for keeping their essentials safe and dry.I’m hoping the latch remains sturdy over time, but for now, it’s performed exceptionally well. Kudos to the UST Watertight Survival Kit for providing excellent quality at such an affordable price!

Heck!
Well, after reading the reviews about the broken latch, I very carefully opened the case with the space blanket, compass and tape...and saw that my compass didn't come with the cord to hang around my neck. Disappointed, but undaunted, I will paste the compass to my forehead and look at it (backwards, of course) with my signal mirror. Although I will need to remember that if the compass reads South, I will need to go North, I guess it doesn't really matter since I can't find my way out of a paper bag anyhow.I have to say, and obviously am saying, that I have other products from UTS or UST, (logo on front of my product is confusing), and they were pretty well made except that the plastic case the cards came in was the exact opposite of this container we all purchased in that it is difficult to open. The Survival cards inside were of very good quality, and my impression was that this company makes very good products.I'm wondering, UTS or UST, if your quality control needs to be assessed? Maybe chickens are packing your containers and pecking at the closing mechanisms until they fall off? Perhaps you have outsourced this product and need to decide if cheaper products due to lower wages are worth the trade off of losing your good reputation? Or did you sell the company, allowing the new owners to use your name?Whatever is going on, I like the Survival Tips cards and hope you revamp this container with the space blanket so that you merit more than a 3.6 review score. Had I read the reviews before my purchase--based on my previously getting a worthy product from you--I wouldn't have bought this as a stocking stuffer.

Very brittle material!
DO NOT BUY!! The plastic material is very brittle and will brake just simply unlatching the lock. I ordered 7 of these items for my cub scouts and they all broke. I reported the issue to Amazon and they sent me replacements. The first shipment of 4 arrived and when I opened the package all have broken latches! They broke from simply moving around the packaging. The second half of shipment arrived the following day and all but one have broken latches as well. Not worth your money or time so consider other brand.

Case alone worth the price
I ordered two and one arrived with a broken clasp however it was still usable and I bought it because the case alone often exceeds 5$ so getting a survival blanket, chemlight and compressed towel is a bargain. The button compass is a gamble, I have had several broken out of the box and are very poor quality, but honestly no matter what brand button compass it is it is poor quality, button compasses are always awful. I personally reorganized my kit the way I like, I removed the compass and chemlight and filled with fire starting devices, emergency fishing items, first aid items, water treatment tablets, and replaced lanyard with 550 chord and adddd a ferrocium toggle as an added fire starter. You can fit quite a lot inside the case.

I can use it for edc.
The lock mechanism is a bit flimsy. I have to tie with a rubber band, to make it more water tight.beside this, everything is ok.

Broken
I bought this only for the case, not the junk inside. The case hinge was broken, so that’s useless as well. Not even worth replacing. I should have just gone to Walmart and picked out one. Think I’ll go a different direction, instead of this crap.
