Q: Can this remote change from tv to av to enable watching with an amazon firestick? i know it wont work the firestick but can it get to the settinngs?

Indont know, had to return mine as I couldn't get it to work with my tv.

Q: Does not seem to work with an androidtv (jvc) - only on/off +/- volume; but not channels/menu etc

I bought this for my 91 year old Dad who has an old Samsung TV. It took a bit of time to set up. Follow the instructions included which listed all the compatible tvs as you have to retune the tv to this new big remote. Hope that helps!
