1.5 year old girl pulling hair..LIFESAVER
My baby girl is now 20 months old and she has been pulling the top of her hair out AND eating it since she was 15 months old. I thought she would “grow out of it” but never did. She really only did it when she would wake up from nap/morning because she was “bored”. She rarely ever did it sitting in her car seat. At first every time she touched her hair, my husband and I would say “no touch” and she got really good at listening. Then when I thought she was over it, I kept noticing hair in her poop. This is when it started to stress me out. I also noticed that she would nonchalantly do it WHILE she was dead asleep. So she then started doing it subconsciously. We tried everything. Now when she’s in her car seat, she has those stress pop toys, or a stuffed animal or something to keep her occupied. She also has stuffed animals in her crib and a silk blanket but that hasn’t helped. I was VERY nervous to buy this Scratch Sleeve for her but I was desperate. We tried it and went right into it for every nap and bedtime. At first she was a little hesitant but with the silk hands, we would have her touch our faces and her face and teach her that it was soft and say “aww”. Now, she absolutely loves this Scratch Sleeve. Honestly there are times she wakes up from a nap and doesn’t want to talk it off! I’ve noticed that when she wakes up from her nap just hanging out in her crib before I get her (and this isn’t stressful to her, she enjoys just playing in her crib when she wakes), she tries pulling her hair and once she realizes she isn’t pulling anything..she stops…which is fantastic! We started this on 1/26/24 and are almost 2 weeks in and again, so far so great! I feel less stressed about it, haven’t had any hair in her poop and it’s been nice! I definitely need to buy more as backup! Highly recommend if your child is pulling, and especially eating their hair! Hoping this will help her stop this habit!

Lifesaver!
I have been using these in the car for my almost 2 year old. She gets frustrated and tries to rip out her hair and these have been so helpful for us to stop her from being able to grab too much hair. I’m thankful this is an option to parents like myself dealing with our kids pulling out their hair, even if that’s not what the intended purpose of this was.

Long but works
Runs long for arm span but it does the job

Might just save our marriage!
These have worked extremely well to prevent our toddler from sucking her fingers and pulling her hair. She can't do either with these on. Our baby, however, is a Houdini and can easily take them off. At first we were trying to safety-pin them to her onesie but then we realized we could put the scratch sleeves on first, and then her Shirt or PJ's over the top. This method has worked great for several weeks now. We even use them on long car rides when she has time to fall asleep. But most importantly my wife and I no longer fight over how to dissuade our child from sucking and pulling (bitters, slapping her hands away, putting her in time out, etc). None of those solutions worked and just made us argue. These work! However, our baby was hysterical for the first several nights because she was unable to soothe herself to sleep. 20-30 min of crying just made us realize that they were working. Now she falls asleep fine but occasionally wakes up and gets upset because she can't self-soothe to fall back asleep. I figure in another week or so that will pas as well.

Great for hair pulling! Runs big.
Bought my daughter three of these to sleep in for hair pulling and it has been one month using it so far. And the hair pulling has stopped! Feels like a miracle. Thankful to have found something that helps. But she is 2 and we buy the 9-12 month size since they stretch so much. The next size up also fits, but gets a little big. Hope that helps!Update: a year later, this has completely stopped her hair pulling, I had her sleep in these for about 8 months to be safe (she never minded them one day, it was just part of her routine) and she never pulled again since I put them on, and never pulled after I took them off. My baby girl finally has hair on her head!!! Can’t tell you how thankful I am for this product.

Great idea but wish it was designed a little better.
So I love the idea of the sleeves and they do work for us with a little modification. The sleeves seem to be for very broad shoulders. really broad shoulders and I don't know of any baby that they might fit. I know the idea is to go over clothes but in the middle of the summer she is in shortsleeves or tank tops and they are so broad they don't stay on her shoulders. They pretty much rest on her elbows. So the only way I can keep them on her is to put them under her shirts which is fine and works.I did end up getting a different brand as well to see if they work better ( scratch me not). They are definitely better designed for the shoulders. I did go with one size up when I got the 'scratch me not' because the 'scratch sleeves' I got first I probably should have went with the next size up. Anyways they are 2 different sizes but even with the scratch sleeves being smaller they are still way broader. Now for what I don't like about the scratch me not. They have a lot more fabric around the hands that make them heavier, almost too heavy for my little one and they make it harder for her to grab things than with the others. I do like the idea of being able to flip the sleeves over so her hands our free but I don't think it's worth the extra thickness. It also makes them way hotter for her in the summer time. Too hot for us. But I do like the way they fit way better. So with that said, for summer I will be sticking with the scratch sleeves and putting them under her shirt to stay on. Winter I will probably do the others or maybe modify the scratch me not by cutting off the fabric that flips over and see it shut so it's not so heavy. The pink ones in the pics is the scratch sleeves and the blue are scratch me not. You can see the difference in broadness between the 2.
