Works great
This works great! It cuts the top off of soft boiled eggs perfectly every time.

It works, but watch any posted videos on how to
I like this gadget. I used it crack open my 3 minute hard boiled egg and found the opening this gadget created is a little too small for my porcelain, 3 minute egg spoon. Otherwise, it works as specified. I found I put a little more "mmph" while using the gadget, which doesn't make for a full, circle crack on the egg. So, I moved the gadget around the egg and repeated the steps to crack and it worked. Would I recommend? It depends; if your raw eggs's yolk is bigger than the whole this gadget creates, you may be in for a mess!

Read this before you buy one.
This device works just fine so far. To create a hole.. that you'll have to peel around to access the inside of the egg. The pictures you see of it, although accurate of what the device looks like, are completely misleading of the size. When compared to the egg in the photos it appears as though the device will sit on top of the egg and break a rather large, spoon size hole on the top. Incorrect. The exact diameter of the cup piece is 1 inch. So the hole it will create on top the egg will be 15/16 inch. Grab your tape measure and put your thumbnail at the 1 inch spot. Compare that to an average large egg in the US and you'll see that the pic used is either photoshopped, or they used a tiny egg such as from a quail and someone with very small hands to hold the device. So does it work? Sure it does. Is the hole it creates on top the egg large enough to stick anything larger than an adult fingertip? Small spoon perhaps?? Not at all. Bottom line: don't be surprised when you get the gadget and it's significantly smaller than what the pictures show and you wind up having to peel the top of the egg by hand anyway. Makes a really good starter hole, though, and the build quality seems reasonable. 3 stars for the quality.

Works Great
Got this for Easter egg prep. A friend has plans for the kids to paint by throwing eggs full of paint at a Canvas. Last time we spent the night before trying to crack eggs just right. I saw this and figured I’d give this a try. Well works great. Just press against the egg and let the weighted spring pop the egg makes a nice clean cut. I’m using this on raw eggs and no issues. I don’t want to start a Lilliputian war or anything but I found that it does work best on the pointy side of the egg. I think this is only because the eggs are raw. Cooked eggs I really don’t think it would matter. Cleans easy enough. If you really want and easy clean cut on your egg, this works great.

Awkward to use.
The little top that is supposed to open the egg doesn’t work right or it’s too small. When it tries to work and FINALLY partially opens the egg, I can’t get the egg out of the shell because the hole is too little.

Worked well.
Tried it for the first time today. The first egg I was learning how to use it. I did better on the second egg. Both eggs came out with unbroken yolks and no little pieces of shell in them. I did it while holding the egg in my hand. I may try it by sitting the egg in something to see if that makes a difference in ease of use.

Am I Doing It Wrong?
I watched the video for this and it looked so easy. Well it's not. I made more of a mess trying to use it than when I just crack the egg and hope it doesn't go all over my hand. I'll keep trying but not sure it was worth the money. Reminds me of the movie "Sabrina" with Audrey Hepburn when she is with Humphrey Bogart in his office and makes dinner throwing together whatever he has in stock. She says "it's all in the wrist." Maybe not my wrist, but why use something that doesn't work every time and then have to wash it?
