Old cable snapped due to wear and tear. The new cable was the right length, I think maybe standard length, and having watched the replacement video, was simple to replace. Tip, tie a piece of string to old cable before pulling it out. This can be used as a "fish wire" to pull the new one in. Only negative side is that the slot in the handle may need to be enlarged to accept the new gland.
