When purchased this, I assumed it came with the batteries. The first one I purchased, it was another brand, it came with batteries but no chime. And there was no other chime I can purchase to hook up. Anyways, this one had a chime but no batteries and it was very hard for me to find batteries. Some said you buy batteries with the flat top. Other said, the one with the tip was fine.
