A: No,Mamei (Mamey sapote),Pouteria sapota,which some say tastes like a combination of sweet potato and pumpkin with undertones of almond, chocolate, honey, and vanilla, is a different fruit than Sapodilla,(Chico sapote) Manilkara zapota L.,which has the flavor of Pears dipped in brown sugar or even root beer.

**Q: How many are in 3 lbs?**
A: It depends on how big they are and they usually mix the size. It can be between  four to six.

**Q: Is it the season now? Roughly how many fruit come in 3 lbs?**
A: Depends on the size.  I just got some very large ones and there was about 6 or 7 per 3 lbs.

**Q: mine arrived however are very hard. How long do they take to ripen?**
A: you just sit them on the counter and when they are avocado like mushy all the way around they are ready.  It can vary, sometimes up to a week or more.
