It works just as it should. No problems whatsoever getting my thumb to unlock the lock. Also registered a friend and her thumb opens it just fine. The lock will need to be recharged on occasion but I must stress that it will take a very long time for the battery to go down to 0. Probably months and months and the Nokelock app (or OKLOK app) gives you an indicator on how much battery life is left. Only takes about an hour to charge. The padlock seems quite durable. This is cool technology! ### ⭐ 3 strikes! All 3 defective... *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2019* I bought 3 of these in total. I returned one, but the other 2 are past amazon return deadline. They all worked great upon receiving them. The first one went bad a week or so later. Battery died and it would not charge. I was able to remove it while plugged in. The second one also would not charge, but came off when connected to a charger. Unfortunately, it will no longer lock. The third would not do anything when it died and I had to buy bolt cutters to remove it from our trailer. I reached out to the seller over 3 weeks ago through amazon and have yet to get any response to the issue with the 2 I still have. I was originally thinking maybe they were not made to be weather proof, but appears they are supposed to be. I now never will have to remember a combination or word for my locks. Plus, this looks so much cooler than any other ‘old’ lock out there! It is definitely a sign of the times when a fingerprint sensor can be attached to a lock and work flawlessly!The first thing to note is that every time that I scan my finger to unlock it is that it will recognize my finger very quickly and unlock, but it will also recognize any slight differences in my fingerprint over time and adjust to remember my most recent fingerprint!The next thing to note is the battery life. It is a rechargeable battery, and supports a micro-usb port, so it is not a weir or hard-to-find charging cord! It charges very quickly and does not have any issues with the included charger. The standby time is 1 month! Oh, how great batteries are becoming! The charge time is only 1.5 hours, and if the battery dies when it is locked, do not worry! All you have to do is plug it in, so get the cord, and a portable battery pack, hook it up, give it some juice, and you are back on your feet to using such a cool lock!Now for the design. The lock is meant to be given a double look! The smooth integration of the fingerprint sensor right where the dial would normally be makes the lock look so elegant and advanced at the same time! The charging port is discretely hidden on the bottom of the lock to keep the look of the lock superb! The lock is also IP65 water resistant, so go ahead and use this outside! What will a rain storm do to the lock?? Nothing! It can take it and still function perfectly!The last thing to note is that the lock is made to work with Bluetooth® as well! The app is great, and you can share the ‘key’ (Bluetooth connection to unlock the lock).
