Weighing 3.1 pounds and balanced just 2.5 cm ahead of the guard, it offers exceptional control and handling. The wire-wrapped grip and double shell guard provide both comfort and protection, making it a perfect blend of historic authenticity and modern craftsmanship. Ideal for collectors, reenactors, or anyone seeking a striking, functional weapon at an accessible price point. ## Description The colichemarde emerged on the sword scene in the late 1600's during the decline of the rapier and the rise of the small sword. The advantage of this configuration was it allowed the sword to be used to parry or oppose even the heaviest swords without breaking, yet remain light and supple enough to take full advantage of its Lightning quick point. True to form, our blade mirrors the original design concepts with an extra long and wide Forte that abruptly tapers down to an acute point. The hilt features a decorative, yet highly functional, double shell guard, complete with finger loops and knuckle bow, while the grip is completely wire wrapped and capped with a matching pummel. Additionally, we have also taken the Liberty of creating a matching dagger with a stiff, beautifully ground and polished blade, Double Quilon's, and wire wrapped handle. ## Features - crafted from the highest quality materials - package weight: 3.5 pounds - care instructions: hand wash - included components: colichemarde sword ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0030DBH9W | | Best Sellers Rank | #228,411 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #342 in Martial Arts Swords | | Blade Length | 32.38 inches | | Blade Material Type | Alloy Steel | | Brand Name | Cold Steel | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars (60) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00705442008644 | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Handle Material | Alloy Steel | | Included Components | Colichemarde Sword | | Item Dimensions L x W | 1"L x 1"W | | Item Type Name | fixed blade, hunting knife, outdoor, camping | | Item Weight | 3.1 pounds | | Manufacturer | Cold Steel | | Manufacturer Part Number | 2008644-SSI | | Model Number | CS88CLMS | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Style | Modern | | UPC | 705442008644 | | Unit Count | 1 Ounce | | Warranty Description | Manufacturer Warranty | ## Product Details - **Blade Length:** 32.38 inches - **Blade Material:** Alloy Steel - **Brand:** Cold Steel - **Handle Material:** Alloy Steel - **Style:** Modern ## Images ![Cold Steel Colichemarde Sword with Uniquely Shaped Blade, Grey/Silver, one Size (CS88CLMS) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41SghpoCVHL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this sword any good?** A: Mine is solid and would be useful for its designed purpose. **Q: Sharpened edge or point only?
