Amazing Heating Pad
Hands down the best heating pads. We have owned around 7 or so of these. They last us about 3 years with daily use. Will continue to purchase.

Bodymed Stands By Their Products
We have two of these heating pads. One was purchased in 2011; the other in December,2023. They both do a great job of soothing sore joints and muscles, and are especially nice in the winter. The temperature settings can be adjusted in one degree increments, which is great. One of our pads just died. I don't know if it is the 2011 unit or the 2023 unit, since they are identical. I called Bodymed and explained the situation. Mike, at technical support, was great. He said that just in case it is the newer unit that died, he would ship me a new one, at no charge. This kind of service is what makes for loyal customers. They have earned my loyalty. What a great company!

Almost perfect...hope it lasts!
UPDATE after 11 monthsI originally gave this 5 stars when I wrote my original review. My digital display gave me an error message two days ago and the pad stopped heating unless I fiddled with cord placement. It seems like a connection issue.I called BodyMed and explained the problem and they are sending me a ONE TIME replacement under warranty. But he explained a lot of things I hadn't paid attention to.1. ALWAYS UNPLUG FROM WALL WHEN NOT IN USE.2. Only use 30 minutes at a time. If used longer let it cool down between used...interesting since it has a 60 minute timer!3. It is designed for only 60 minutes of use a day...I should have pressed this. Seems like that means the electronics were not designed to last a long time?4. Never lay on top of it...oh well. All of these restrictions caused me to lower rating to four stars. But it is still the best option I have found. Even with the abuse I gave it, leaving it plugged in etc, it still lasted almost a year with more than 1 hr per day of use.If I have to buy a new one every year I will just need to include the expense in my budget. My dermatologist noted my skin is discoloring due to lots of heatpad use. Hmmmmm. I'm thinking perhaps I will limit my use to 30 minutes am before getting up and pm before bed. And I will lower the temperature a bit. This is still a great pad. Hopefully they will figure a way to make electronics or wire attachments more durable! But if not I will keep buying them!ORIGINAL REVIEWThis is my second moist heating pad purchase. My first was the Thermophore black box with timer. I have only had this new pad two days, but so far it is my favorite. The digital controller is fantastic. It doesn't have it's own backlight so you must turn on a light to see it, but otherwise it is terrific. Directions are easy to follow once you get the idea of when to lock it. I now have it set for 30 minutes at 144 degrees. As long as I don't unplug it, the controller keeps my setting so all I have to do is turn it on. I LOVE THIS CONVENIENCE.The instructions specifically state that we are NOT supposed to lay on top of the pad. We are only to lay the pad on top of us. My doctor explained that it's a safety issue. These high quality moist heating pads can get hot enough to burn if you lay on them. If a person didn't have total pain sensations due to numbness or other problems it would be possible to fall asleep and get burned. My Thermophore has a controller with a timer but with NO temperature control. I have to constantly push the pause button on and off to cool and heat the pad. Thermophore's less expensive pad doesn't even have the timer so you have to hold the button down the whole time to keep the heat on.I am finding that I can comfortably lay on top of my new BodyMed moist heating pad at 144 degrees without fear of burning even though the instructions expressly forbid it. The timer goes to 60 minutes max. If I fell asleep it would turn off. But if I thought I might fall asleep I would probably set it for a lower temperature.Does it feel moist? Yes it does. Just as moist as my Thermophore. How does it get moist? It says it pulls moisture from the air. I was very skeptical but this system does work. It says not to store it in air conditioning or hot dry places. Really? Some of us live in hot dry places with AC. It says if pad needs extra moisture to hang it in the bathroom where it will absorb Humidity. But realistically I have a super fine atomizer spray bottle that I mist in the air over it occasionally if I don't feel moist enough, so the pad doesn't actually get wet but the cover gets a little moisture as if it were in a humid bathroom! Now that I have this BodyMed I don't see any advantage of the Thermophore controller without the digital temperature control. The only thing I don't like about this BodyMed is the label on the cover is a bit scratchy, as is the Velcro strap at the bottom. The Velcro is stitched at the bottom and scratches me when I first lay on it. They should stitch it higher up out of the way when folded under. And they should stitch their label on the back of the cover! Other than that this pad is perfect! If necessary I will cut the label off. But really it is only noticeable when first laying down. So it's not a huge issue. It comes in both white and black if you have a preference!

have used several days and am very happy...see updates
I bought the 14x27 to cover from neck to waist actually goes a bit lower which is nice. I love the black color of case and interior. The case is more a combo of fleece and Jersey not sure how to describe it but not very fleeced. It has no closure to hold it on but seems to stay on so far with friction. The case has an anoying Velcro spot and strip that will only work on a limb unless you are a slight person. I don't like it because the hook portion gets stuck in clothes so use the other side. It has a nice stiffness to it so not a flopper...yet. The guts are a bit stand out ish but I have very sensitive back with fibro and arthritis and up against a pillow I can lay on it fine with clothes. Against skin I might not like so much would just lay it on me I believe. The moist by its self is true for a short time and as they say...if enough moisture in your home's air and not repeated uses. The digital control is a step up for me(should have a dim light but you can set it and it remembers your last temp and time when cycles off as long as not unplugged) you can pick any time from 0 to 60 and any temp from its lowest to highest any degree in between. Very nice feature. I can't take the upper temps and I can't stand sunbeams because they just don't get hot enough wasted a bit of money learning they are junk. Unfortunately you must spend the extra money to get a decent heating pad. Oh and don't get the thermomedics pad it is awful and dangerous plus does not last and flops. The cord is black and round and long enough if near an outlet guess it at5 or six feet. Control is are easy to figure out and like the lock out for unintended pushes. So far great.UPDATED: I have used over a week now and am loving it! The digital controls are so nice especially being able to select any temp in its range not just preset ones! I love the length but wish it was a bit wider to cover my whole back to neck side to side just 2 or 3 more inches would be great. Also removed velcro strap w/seam ripper from cover and sewed it cut in half to make a cover closure since the strap was not needed and the "hook" part just kept sticking to my clothing. Now it keeps it shut so it foes not slip off pad just in case. Heats fast as well. Love it well worth extra money and like the black color.UPDATE #2 it is now almost September 2015 so 3 months of very regular use. Average several 30 minute sessions per day. It is still working as expected and am still happy.2 things to note:It has lost some of its stiffness...to me I liked it stiff...you may not...it is not however floppy and hopefully wont become so.The lack of a nice soft back light when you push a button(or anytime) is annoying but certainly does not change my rating and appreciation after so many failures both cheep and high range in price....this one so far is my favorite out of far too many. Wish they(bodymed) made a skinny one for the neck.....
