It may go on for longer because if the dog has a sore, after the dog's cleaned off the hydrogel, they may just enjoy the taste of the irritated skin. While our product is completely harmless for your dog to ingest, we'd recommend putting some vet wrap over the irritation to prevent them from licking it off - so it can effectively work. **Q: Whats the difference between this and the antimicrobial hydrogel? The ingredients are the same in the exact order** A: The active ingredient HOCl hypochlorous acid is the same for both of them however the concentration varies. The antimicrobial strength is 0.008% while the Hot Spot spray is higher strength at 0.012%. **Q: Has anyone else had a problem with the sprayer not working... it pumps but it feels like the gel is too thick to spray out?** A: I've not had that problem.
