**Q: What is this? I'm a beginner and learning.**
A: Malawi/Victoria Buffer™ is a blend of carbonate salts designed to enhance the natural environment of cichlids by increasing carbonate hardness, buffer capacity, and pH. It is formulated to maintain a pH of 7.8–8.4. For optimum replication of the Malawi/Victoria Lake environment, use with Cichlid Lake Salt™, Cichlid Trace™, and NutriDiet® Cichlid Flakes.

**Q: Info says it will also raise kh but not gh, do i need another product to raise gh?**
A: I only add this, Api Stress Coat and Api Stress Zyme when doing partial water changes, and it makes water quality correct for Malawi cichlids. We bought 6 of them a couple of years ago and they have had babies. We now have 23. Local aquatics shop says this shows that the water is correct for them. If this doesn't bring your pH quite high enough, you can also add a little bicarbonate of soda (the sort you would use in baking). I never add anything else.

**Q: Can i add this same morning of introduction of mbuna cichlids? currently have a 240l tropical fish. converting to malawi.**
A: I have added this to my Malawi cichlid tank at water changes without problems. I have a 400l tank with mainly yellow labs but also Mbundu and two synodontis. I use the buffer to control the pH. I have never had any problems.
