I can't trust I won't blow this thing up on 1st use.** A: One of the most important features of the induction coil is that it must have at least 12 volts on startup or it won't cycle and will short out. This just means that you must have the power supply on and running before you connect it to the induction board. In other words, you can't hook the power supply to the induction board and then turn on the power supply. That voltage has to be instantaneous for the induction board to work at all. You can put a switch between the power supply, turn on the power supply and then turn on the switch from the power supply to the induction board. You will need a fan to cool the board and coolant such as water flowing through the coil. I have had great success with that board. If you run it full power, 48 volts, you should monitor the volts and amps to keep from drawing more than the rated wattage of the power supply. The digital volt ammeters are cheap, around $10.00 with shunt included. Hope this helps instead of just muddling the water. **Q: what is the inside diameter of the coil?** A: Inside diameter of the coil is: 1 3/4" **Q: What is the outside diameter of the copper tubing itself?
