**Q: Is this item durable**
A: Yes these reels are very durable. we have caught probably over a thousand salmon with them and they never fail.  They also make the best downrigger reels.

**Q: How does the "auto return" feature work?**
A: The "bait runner" feature of this reel lets you live line or drift bait with a light drag.  The tension on this drag system is independent of the main drag and is controlled by a knob at the back of the reel. The "auto return" feature refers to the ability of the reel to switch to your main drag setting with a slight turn of the handle or the flip of a switch, also located at the rear of the reel.

**Q: can you recommend a good shimano saltwater rod to pair with this reel?**
A: I perfer one piece rods. Ugly sticks make a lot of good heavy Rods that work well with this reel. I have an ugly stick with one and a Shimano rod with another. The ugly stick is about 6'6" and the other one is a lil over 7'

**Q: I want to pair the 4000 with an ugly stik tiger lite 6'9 medium action rod. Do you think the 4000 os too small or should i shoot for the 6000?**
A: I think you would be better off with the 6000 for a medium action rod.  The 4000 is better suited for a light to medium rod.
