This aids in lining up the screen protector using my "tape" technique. Once you've got things lined up the way you want, pull off the backing and let it drop into place. This can't be done with the knob installed. As far as I can tell, the installation went well, just the usual bubbles that you need to push towards the edges to get the air out. I don't even notice any major dust particles trapped. Time will tell how this will hold up to cold and heat. Also I'm a bit concerned this will cause more glare in the sun.
