Does rubbing alcohol work, or only denatured?** A: I used 99% rubbing alcohol when I traveled to Honduras on a missionary trip. Rubbing alcohol is allowed in checked luggage on airlines (much research on this beforehand). Yes it did soot the bottom of my pot BUT it wiped off easily with a dry cloth. I rehydrated every meal with a 2/3 cup of boiled water. It boiled 2/3 cup of water very quickly in about 4 to 5 minutes. This little burner works exactly as I hoped it would. I highly recommend it. **Q: Where is this manufactured?** A: Trangia is a Swedish company ( http://www.trangia.se/english/ ) that has made outdoor products for outdoor enthusiasts and the military since 1925. Sold through many USA distributors, the Trangia stoves, cook sets, and accessories for outdoor cooking are legendary. **Q: is this made of brass or other.** A: The flat swinging plate on the simmer ring is made of steel. Everything else is made of brass. Verify with your own magnet. I did. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very useful and compact *by A***R on 12 September 2026* Absolutely love this.
