This product is very thick and needs a fair amount of thinning to be sprayed the recommended thinner is tot. boat 100 but is or was $16.00 a qt. if you are some where xylene is available that is the way to go remember you will need to spray 3 to 4 coats min. and equipt. clean-up after each coat. Home Depot carries the Klean Strip line of products they may still carry xylene or a product called painter's solvent which is a replacement for xylene, mek, tolulene and naphtha around $18.00 a gal. but of course not in CA. because it smells . The goal with a thinner is to flash off fast enough not to run but not so fast that the paint can level to avoid excess sanding. Read the tech info on the web site, it's all there. Product is excellent when used as designed, worked very well for me. Marine paint is UV resistant. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stuff seems to be very durable, but tough to sand *by T***C on 9 February 2023* I decided to use this to seal up the bottom of my 15' whaler Ive been restoring for below the waterline. The prior owner had old paint that was peeling. Sanded it all off and put 3 coats of this one with a foam roller from Lowes. I tried with a 4" quality nap, but it started to shed. The foam rollers seemed to do a great job and went on fairly well. But when it dried, it left it a little rough. I went to sand it smooth to prep for bottom paint it was a bear to sand. I thought I could knock it down with 320, no luck.. tried 220, no luck.. finally went to 80 (all I had around) and it started to come off, but clogged a ton.. then came back to 320 to smooth it off better. Being that it will be below the waterline, Im not overly concerned, but not being able to smooth it out easily either at application or sanding later is somewhat disappointing. I was expecting for it smooth out easily but my guess its this epoxy is really strong which is great, but tough to work with it. Working time I had no problems. It mixed fine 3:1. Gas off for 15 minutes and rolled on. It does have a pot life about 4 hours or so. I was apply to keep going coat after coat..
