It's true that it comes in a bag instead of a plastic container, but it isn't exactly dirty. The inside is coated with sugar dust from the crystals themselves. The bag also didn't have any holes in it. However, the bag was loose in the box and the crystals were broken up quite a bit, hence the sugar dust. Overall they taste pretty good, like sugar. Nothing more, nothing less. They are tasty and they do work well with projects. Because they were broken up though, they aren't exactly these big crystals like people say, they are relatively average in size.
