I know it's too big for 3mm crimps (ie, doesn't work at all). I ended up buying another crimping tool from fire mountain. **Q: does this work for 2mm tube** A: Yes (not for 1mm) if for tube you mean crimp. Squeeze the 2nd 1st, making sure that your wire is seperated; turn it 90 degrees & squeeze hard with the 1st. Be sure to tug to make sure it holds. Hope that helps. (Sorry more than you asked for.) **Q: According to the Beadalon website these are supposed to be the correct pliers for use on the 1.5mm tubes. Does anyone know if that is true or not?** A: They must be referring to the size of the tubes compared to the size of the apertures on the crimp tool. For example the Mighty Crimper tool would be much too large; the regular crimper might be OK. I use the regular crimper on 2 mm tubes; it was too large for 1 mm tubes. I am not sure about 1.5 mm tubes. Note: I use the Mighty Crimper on larger tubes and the front or toward the end of the tube to put 2, 2.5, 3 mm crimp covers over crimps. Hope that helps. **Q: Can I use a small cable crimper instead of a beading crimper? Seems like the wire one would be more durable?** A: Stop screwing around.
