My question is: now that our pool is already set up using the original pump, is i…** A: no they did not on my pool i blocked the outlet with a sponge and the inlet wife held tupperware bowl over it i was dissapointed i thought they would just screw on but i ended up useing 11/4 INCH ball valves from home depot and 11/4 pvc pipe and a rubber couplings FROM PIPE TO POOL from there you can hard pipe or use these fittings with the intex 1/12 hoses --- i think this is bull they want you to buy the 60 dollar kit with everything included why sell the adapters i dont get it hope this helps i might add my pool did not come with the plunger valves **Q: The black nipples with no thread on them that stick out of the side of the pool, these just sort of slide on the nipple and sort of compress?** A: the inside of the adapter will fit slide over a 1 inch to 1/1/8 diameter threadless pool fitting they then will tighten down by compression by tightening the nut **Q: I have the 18 X 48 metal frame pool and It came with a 1500 gph pump so it doesn't sound like I need these adapters. Does anyone know?** A: You may not need these. I say "may" because it seems there are many varieties of pools and filters out there. I have a 16' x 48" Bestway PowerSteel pool that came with a 1500gph cartridge pump that I immediately replaced with an Intex 2150GPH salt water pump system using a sand filter. As it turns out, I did not need these adapters because the Bestway pool comes with a 1.25" to 1.5" T-adapter on the dirty water side to connect the two 1.25" pool outputs to the 1.5" pump input, and the the Bestway pool has a 1.5" pool input (clean water) port which matches with the 1.5" output port on the Intex salt water system. The same is true if you have a Bestway 1500gph cartridge filter pump. I think where you may need these is when you're upgrading from a smaller pump than the 1500gph one since I think the smaller pumps may use all 1.25" fittings. **Q: Can anyone tell me why these are $27.00 a pair?
