Make delectable, crispy-edged, round waffles on any stove or grill and crown them with butter and syrup or fruit. Personally designed by Galen Lehman in response to customer inquiries, this waffle maker is made with a double rim that effectively ends dripping - no other iron waffle maker has it! Plus, cast iron lasts longer, heats more evenly and holds the heat better than cast aluminum.

- Superb cast iron performance – Long service life in aluminum. Cast iron provides superior heat retention and even distribution for perfectly crispy and golden waffles every time
- DIY Oven Reseasoning for Maximum Performance: Although pre-seasoned with soybean oil, we highly recommend reseasoning at home for superior release. When adhesion appears or seasoning wears out, clean and dry the iron, rub on the oil as above, and then bake it upside down in an oven at 204.4-500°F for 1 hour (with a tray underneath). Allow to cool inside the oven before handling. Repeat to create an even more durable, non-stick finish.
- Perfect 7" Rounds – Creates delicious crispy waffles about 7" in diameter, ideal for topping with butter, syrup, or fresh fruit.
- Smart hinge: the two-part configuration allows each half to be easily detached for cleaning. Simple maintenance while preserving the vintage charm.

- Easy care: hand wash with warm water and a little soap. For a tenacious paste, let water simmer in the griddle before using a scraper (after cooling). Finally, apply a very thin layer of high-smoke oil inside and out, then wipe off any excess to avoid adhesion (too much oil can create a sticky surface). Keep dry to prevent rust.

**Q: cast iron that doesn't work on induction?**
A: The reason they say it doesn't work on induction is that as soon as you lift the pan from the induction, the inductor shuts off and begins to cool, and you need a constant, steady, ready-to-go heat to cook the waffles. Yes you can do it with induction, but it may take longer, and the waffle may not be as crispy, or may even stick a little as a result.

**Q: Is it made out of pure cast iron or is it a combined alloy material of cast iron and aluminum (or some other material)?**
A: It is pure cast iron.

**Q: What are the complete dimensions? (width, height, length not including the handle) thanks!**
A: The diameter is 7 3/4" round.  The waffle size is 7" round. (there is a drip rim around the edge.)    The height of both together when  closed is 1 3/8".

**Q: Could you make a made in the usa version of this just like the old days? willing to pay $100-$150 for one.**
A: Great American Waffle Iron Appalachian cast iron. I was going to get on from Lodge but it looks like they are not currently making it.
